JUNIOR SQUASH IS HERE!
Come and have some fun, meet new friends, get fit and learn to play squash!
WHAT? A fun, ,junior squash club. Fitness work, shot practice, game practice, fun games.
WHO? Juniors aged 6 - 16.
WHEN? Saturday mornings 10.00am - 12 noon.
WHERE? The Squash courts, Mid suffolk Leisure Centre.
EQUIPMENT? Racquets, squash balls, safety glasses provided. Just come in gym kit and non-marking soles.
COST? £3.00 per session.

Initial sessions have been well attended and England Squash have donated a full set of Unsquashable Mini Squash Equipment.

The 2009 AGM is to be held on Friday 8 May at Mid Suffolk Leisure Centre at 7pm. All welcome.

CLUB NIGHTS
The first Wednesday of every month is "Club Night". The Club will book and pay for 3 Courts at 7.00pm and 3 Courts at 7.45pm to enable Club members to take part in social games. The Club will also provide balls and Committee members will supervise the sessions. The initial trial Club Nights have been well supported so far and it is anticipated that they will continue. Newcomers are always welcome.
FREE FUN COACHING SESSION FOR JUNIORS
We have made some progress towards establishing a Junior Squash Club at the Mid Suffolk Leisure Centre and we are currently hoping to start a club for the under 12s in March and a club for the over 11s in May. More details to follow.
To get this going, Maxine Dove and John Mead have been qualifying as Level 1 coaches. To qualify they need to give 4 supervised lessons to under 12s - but,of course, they don't have a club at which to give these lessons... catch 22 !
John says: "So, I am arranging a one off FREE COACHING SESSION for under 12s (ages 6 - 12) this Saturday 28th Feb 2pm - 4pm. I'll be giving four lessons, one after the other, following the mini squash syllabus. Exactly which lessons we can decide on the day, depending on ability.
The lessons involve
- some gentle fitness work,
- skill practice, eg a specific shot
- game practice
- a fun game to round off
The session will be completely free and all equipment, including rackets, balls and goggles will be provided.
If you have some under 12s ( ages 6 - 12) who'd like to have a fun time on Saturday afternoon, please could you email me back to let me know (so I know how many to expect) and bring your squash-kid along on Saturday at 2pm."
